Specializing since almost a decade ago in the world of documentaries, he has directed two feature-length films in this genre. He currently develops his career mainly as a scriptwriter and producer for television and advertising. He is responsible for the content in several projects, such as Contra a morte, Dos soños or this one, Cocinando en el fin del mundo. He has worked in another two documentaries soon to be released: Border Poetry, a journey around the World to feel the pulse of poetry today, and Contrafaces, an experimental film through art and identity.
He started his career as a cameraman for television at the beginning of the last decade. Little by little his interest led him towards directing photography, starting with video clips and institutional advertising. He now combines working in the world of documentaries with advertising, organizing concerts, and is responsible for the images in several programs for TVG. He is the photography director for documentaries such as Marea and Dos soños
David, with his sound studio La Panificadora, is already a reference in his field. He works in Galicia and abroad on renowned productions, such as the films
Tiro en la cabeza by Jaime Rosales, O Apóstolo by Jaime Cortizo, Os Fenómenos by Fernando Zarauza, Schimbare by Alex Sampayo, as well as other films about to
be released: El desconocido by Dani de la Torre and Toro by Kike Maíllo. He has also worked in documentary films such as Sopro, Horizontes Mínimos and Sana, directed by Marcos Pimentel, and N-VI by Pela del Álamo. In the last three years he has been granted three Mestre Mateo awards for best sound. His works have been on show at several festivals, such as those of San Sebastián, the Berlinale and Venice, collecting prizes worldwide.
Pablo Novoa is one of the musicians with the most solid and prolific careers in Galicia. He started his musical studies at the age of 12, and when he was barely 14 years old he started to play the guitar in several rock bands in Vigo. In the early 1980s he emerged as a member of the band Golpes Bajos as guitarist, keyboardist and percussionist. His career is characterized by countless top-
level collaborations: Mastretta, Ketama, Marlango, Iván Ferreiro, Deluxe, Josele Santiago, Alaska, and the cream of the crop of Spain’s pop and rock scene in the last few decades. One of his most recent artistic projects is Radio Pesquera, an elegant guitar duet together with Nono García.
He has been the composer of the soundtracks for several feature-length documentaries such as Concertinas, Contrabando and Afranio, and has created a serene, elegant original soundtrack with his personal hallmark for Cocinando en el fin del mundo.
